Take Care of the People Taking Care of You

Be understanding of large crowds. This event is hosted in a large area, however, many folks will be there along with you. Please be prepared to wait, if necessary. Remember, a kind word goes a long way, and your patience is appreciated!

Take Care of Yourself
This event focuses on craft beer, but not on its abuse. Please be responsible about your consumption. If you are attending this event in a large group, have a designated driver. Or, call a cab.

Does the money from alcohol sales support any local non-profit efforts?
Proceeds from alcohol sales will benefit a local non-profit organization that raises money and collects non-perishable food items. To date, Microbrew & Music Festival has raised over $50,000 for partnering non-profits and has supported national and local musicians, brewers, and local businesses through the Microbrew & Music Festivals and other concerts and events.

Will there be a place where I can set up my blanket or lawn chair at the Traverse City Summer Festival?
The summer event is structured as a walk-about festival and we encourage folks to stand up, move about, and dance! However, on Friday night there will be a small area for blankets and chairs toward the back side of the audience pit. On Saturday, there will also be a small area for blankets and chairs during the music concerts but you are also welcome to set them up on the outskirts of the main walk-about areas. Please be courteous to your fellow festival-goers and bring low-slung chairs.

Cash or Credit?
The Microbrew & Music Festival will accept credit cards at the door for ticket purchases, if tickets are not sold out in advance. We will also accept credit cards at the merchandise area. Please be prepared to pay with cash only for drink tokens and food (some food vendors may take credit cards).

Will smoking be allowed at the Festival?
The festival will be cigarette and smoke-free.

Where do I recycle? What can I compost?
The Microbrew & Music Festival is an eco-conscious event. Please do your part in helping us reduce our impact! Recycle and reuse all that you can, compost your compostables, and toss what you must. Xero Waste Events will be on hand to help and to provide bins and information to make the Microbrew & Music Festival a waste-free event.

What about the weather?
The Microbrew & Music Festival will take place no matter the weather! Keep an eye on the weather forecast and please come prepared for whatever weather mother nature may bring!

What isn’t allowed?
Please – no infants, no toddlers, no kids, no teens, nor anyone else under the age of 21. No pets, no glass, no backpacks, no camelbaks, no coolers, no growlers, no outside food or beverage (water in a sealed bottle is OK), no weapons, no contraband, no bad attitudes. The Microbrew & Music Festival is strictly an event for those age 21 and up. Violators will be asked to leave. Microbrew & Music Festival reserves the right to refuse entry to or remove anyone from the event, at their discretion. Remember to please be understanding of large crowds. This event is hosted in a large area, however, many folks will be there along with you. Please be prepared to wait, if necessary. Remember, a kind word goes a long way, and your patience is appreciated!

I won’t be drinking at the event. Why do I have to pay the same price as those who drink?
In addition to microbrew samples, festival attendees will have access to a full lineup of national musical talent, food and beverage vendors, merchandise, festival activities and special events. For this reason, discounted tickets are not available for designated drivers or non-drinkers. Thank you for your understanding.

AGES 21+ ONLY – no exceptions, please (no infants, toddlers, kids, or teens – thanks for your understanding). Please bring your ID with you and be prepared to show it at the door. Thank you!

A complete list of brews, musicians, and food will be available online, as well as information about parking, transportation, directions, and more on this website and will be updated on a regular basis.
