Join us this August on the historic arboretum of The Village at Grand Traverse Commons in Traverse City, Michigan

As we prepare to celebrate our 9th Traverse City Microbrew & Music Festival (our 5th Annual Summer Festival), we invite you to experience an evening of savory, thirst-quenching craft brews, the music of accomplished performers – local and national, and appetizing eats from local restaurants. Since the summer of 2009 we have celebrated and highlighted the craft brew culture and musicians of northern Michigan along with thousands of brew and live music devotees.

Each Microbrew & Music Festival features over 75 musicians, over 45 breweries and over 200 craft brew flavors, between 7 and 10 local food vendors, and a gathering of some of the most appreciative and loyal attendees. As well, through the generosity and skill of a local IMG_8157community member, the Microbrew & Music Festivals feature the popular Hop-N-Brew Shack. Here, brewers are able to offer special samples of their craft beer. The brewer, along with twelve festival-goers, meet one-on-one for about 30 minutes to taste the flavors and discuss the process in which the brews were crafted.

Each Festival also features a local non-profit that we wish to support. This year, we again are working with Bay Area Recycling for Charities, a local 501c3 that focuses its efforts on converting recyclables into revenues not only to support itself and fund its expansion, but to achieve its ultimate goal of giving maximum donations to local charities. Bay Area Recycling for Charities offers easy, convenient options for maximizing the effect of your recycling, with a drop-off site and pick-up service. The profits from the resources collected will be contributed to local charities. A strong believer and leader in creating zero-waste events, Porterhouse Productions has inspired the same philosophy in other organizations and community events. Recycling and composting as much waste as possible, Porterhouse Productions is proud to again be working with BARC. In prior years, Porterhouse Productions raised over $20,000.00 for Little Artshram, a youth-focused 501c3 organization that fosters alternative education through a unique combination of permaculture principles, visual, musical and puppet artistry, service to the natural world and inclusive social activism.

Through its events, concerts, and functions, Porterhouse Productions will continue to support hundreds of community-based artists, small businesses, vendors, farmers, local food providers, arts and entertainment companies, hotels and motels, and others throughout the northern Michigan region. This commitment only strengthens our purpose to enrich the local economy.

We invite you to join us in Traverse City for the 9th Traverse City Microbrew & Music Festival – one that serves to unify a community brought together by delicious flavors of craft brews, delectable food, soulful music, and loads of fun. This event is proof that as we support one another, we support the greater good, all while having a fantastic time.

Cheers,

Sam Porter
and the Porterhouse Productions team
